Production
Vanguard and elasticity
The production plant was designed in 2006 specifically to make large formats and uses Sacmi’s Continua technology in two lines: one with the 7200-ton press and a Continua Plus for large slabs.
The line “Continua PH 7200” requires, before pressing, a “continuous” pre-compaction phase of the multilayer or full-body slab.
The “Continua Plus”, on the other hand, can produce slabs up to 120 × 250 cm without using a mold and therefore with great possibilities to adapt to the formats required by the designers.
The special decorative effects characterised by true depth are achieved without the use of glazes, but only by the distribution of mass-coloured porcelain mixtures.
he production process of GIGACER involves the preliminary preparation of semi-finished products in large slabs of 120X120 or 120X250 cm porcelain stoneware, multilayer or full-body, which can be subsequently cut and cold – modified in many other formats and surfaces.
This series of slabs characterized by material aspects and superior technical prerogatives, is produced with mixtures formulated exclusively with natural raw materials, using “Continua” technology since 2007.
Being able to have two “Continua” lines, with the only difference in pressing, allows the company to have a remarkable flexibility in its service to the market: while the semi-finished slabs are always kept available in the warehouse, the individual formats can be produced at the time of request.
The timeliness of delivery is therefore guaranteed together with the possibility of having different formats in the same shade of color, precisely because they are obtained from a single semi-finished product.
